Yeah….. Keep your kids off the sidewalk!

Well I think it's finally going to happen. I'm getting the motorcycle. I'm not 100% sure when, but it should be tonight or in the morning. Either is fine with me. Anyway, I think I'm going to keep in right there in the neighborhood for a few days. I've rode a lot of motorcycles over the years but It's been about 6 years since my last Nija experience. Well ya know, cept the 20 minutes I had on it a couple of weeks ago. Anyway...

Where did they come from?

I don't know who left what door open, but all, and I mean ALL, the idiots are out. I don't know if someone gave them a day pass or what, but I'm pretty sure that in the last 20 minutes I've used every cuss word I know, you know, the whole world knows and I know for a fact I even made up a few new ones. I was about 2 seconds from putting my full coverage insurance to use. On the up side, it's turned in to a very nice day. If only I had a motorcyle to enjoy it with... hummmmmmmmmm :)

Arggggg…..

Geezzzus, this fog sucks today. It's 6 miles from Prosper to Frisco. In the morning that's usually about a 10-15 minute dirve. Not this morning. 57 minutes from the time I pulled out onto the highway until I was actually in Frisco. So needless to say it was almost an hour and a half to get to work. It's starting to clear up now so hopefully it'll be better this afternoon. I love the fog, don't get me wrong, I just hate the traffic it causes. Anyway....

Damn it’s cold!

Ya know this cold weather is going to break me. It's not the heating bill that's going to cost me, It's the pool. When ever it gets below 38 the pool pump comes on to keep it from freezing up. Well it hasn't been above freezing in like the last two and a half days. That's more pump time than I get in the summer even. Oh well, I guess that's part of the deal. You get to have all the little bikini chicks over in the summer but you gotta keep paying the elec bill.

Happy New Year

Well I know for the last of this last year and the first week of this year I have been strangely silent, but I'm going to try to change that. Everyone knows I hate the "Holiday Season". Well I guess hate may be a strong word but I at least dislike it quite a bit. Now that it's all over for another 11 months, I can get back to my jolly ole self. Last night I went and saw the last Lord of the Rings move with Brandt and Teri. It was pretty good. I didn't even hardly notice that it was 3 1/2 hours long. Well I didn't realize it until I was having to drive home way past my bedtime. Then I kinda noticed it.

State of the “Will” address

So Christmas is finally over. Yeee Haawww. Now I can relax a bit. After a hell of a week or so at work I finally got a bit of time to relax. I went to Mom and Dad's to do a little late Christmas. That was nice. I got to see family, which I don't do nearly enough, and I got to spend some much needed time with Brandt. What I need now is a little time to really relax. Relax = LOTS of Sleep. It looks like I'll have a couple of days off during the new years holiday. That will be nice. Anyway, I'm much less stressed now but I need to get back to work and start paying for all those Christmas presents.... :P

It’s perfect

How exactly do you know when you have perfect TV placement? Well I can tell you! When you can see the TV clearly from the bed, shower, bath tub, and toilet you know you have come as close as any person can come to have the perfect TV placement. OK, maybe you can somehow get it setup where you can see it from the fridge as well but I think that's probably asking a bit too much.

Busy as a stinkin little bee

Well things have really picked up around here. Work, home, it's all busy. I've got tons of things here at home that I'm way behind in. My shower has all the tile ripped out of it, the lawn work is pittifully behind, and I'm gonna pull my hair out if I don't get to sweep and mop the damn floors soon. At work I have two moves going on at once. When you think of moving at work you generally think of just picking up your desk and files from one place and moving it to another. You don't really think of all the hard core IT stuff. When you plug in your phone, there has to be wiring and phone systems behind that. When you turn on your PC you should think of how that PC got there, the cabling that's in the wall, the servers that magically appeared in a little dark hole in the wall or closet. What about all the electricity that had to be run, and the A/C that was installed to keep all those servers cold and even down to the copper tubing to drain away the condensation collected by that A/C? There is a lot more to your IT guy than just some kid that plays a lot of Battlefield 1942.

I hate Dallas

Here is an example of one of the things I really hate about Dallas or any big city for that matter. Yesterday I was helping Teri move some things, Cuz I gotta truck and that's what guys with trucks do, and we had a load of things she needed hauled from point A to point B. We were pulling out of the parking lot and there was this elderly lady walking across the street up and up the curb. Well she fell. It didn't look like the worse fall in the world but she was easily in her 70's so any fall at that age can be bad. I stopped right there in the street and jumped out to try and help here. She said she wasn't hurt to bad but her shoulder did hurt a bit. She didn't think she broke anything. Well I first tried to get her up off the ground but she didn't really want to cooperate. I then asked if I could call someone for her or did she need medical attention. She really didn't want any of that. She just wanted me to leave her so she could "rest". She wasn't mean about it but I think she was very scared. I don't think she was so scared about falling as she was about a strange man trying to help her. It's a pretty sad state when you might be hurt but you are so afraid of the people around where you live that you'd rather deal with it yourself rather than to take the extended hand of someone who really wants to help you. I hate that this is the world that we live in and that's pretty much one of the reasons that I move way out here to the "sticks" (relatively speaking). I know if my grandmother fell I would really hope that someone would be there to help here and for that reason even though this wasn't a great experience, I'll try to help again if I'm in the same postion.

As the Toe Turns, Part II

Toe update status.

Toe #1
This is the toe that I initally broke a couple of months ago. This toe is doing much better. Normal walking and such does not cause any problems or pain. There is still a moderate amount of pain if you bend the toe at strange angles. I know, don't do that, but it must be done to test the ammount of healing that has taken place. I would expect another 2 - 4 weeks and this toe should be back to 100% toe worthy.

Toe #2

This is the toe that I tried to rip the top off of a week or two ago. I initially had a couple days of sever pain assoicated with this toe. Upon further inspection the healing that was trying to take place was being aggravated by the toe nail actually poking it over and over again as I walked. After about ten minutes of blinding pain as I cut away the surrounding toe nail and much of that walking pain was gone. After the poking pain subsided I realized that this toe too feels either broken or at the very least severly sprained. It hurts to move it up, down, or sideways. I think my basketball days are over, for now anyways.

I'll keep you informed on this breaking story.

A brief moment of enlightenment!

Something happened to me today. Brandt and I went out to get some things done today. Most of it things I'd been putting off while I was sick. One of those things I wanted to get done was to buy a new pair of sun glasses. My "Daddy O's" got broken on a ride at Six Flags so I have reverted back to my "Predator 2's". They are both good glasses. Anything that RayBan makes is pretty decent. Well we were in the Sun Glass Hut and looking through there stuff. I found the glasses I wanted. I had every plan on buying a pair. Anybody that knows me knows I've kinda got a thing for my glasses so I was prepared to spend a buck or two on them. Well the first pair I liked weren't RayBan's but I figured what the hell. I'm willing to go out on a limb. Then I noticed they were $249. Well with the way my electric bill has been the last three months I didn't think I could pull off that kind of money for sun glasses. I moved down the line and to my next choice. They were pretty close to my Daddy O's in appearance. I like them but they were $140 which were what my Daddy O was also. Well standing there with my debit card in hand I made the decision I never thought I would. No $140 glasses for me. Not today anyway. We still had the monster trip to the grocery store before the end of the day. I think I'll just send my Daddy O's back to Rayban and see what they can do for me. Last time they replaced them for me free of charge. I can probably deal with the Predators for a while longer. At least then if they say they won't fix/replace them I'll maybe have a few more buck for my new eyes.

The Big Sleep

So the night before last was pretty ruff! I was awake most of the night coughing and hackin up what lungs I have left. If you were to add up all the sleep I had together it would be about 2 hours. So with that and still feeling really pretty crappy I came home from work an hour or so early. I wasn't home very long and I deceded to go lay down for a while. I put Brandt on autopilot and gave him instuctions for the rest of the night. I asked him to come get me in a hour or so just in case I were to fall asleep. Well at about 8pm he came and woke me up. I wasn't having any of that. Next thing I knew it was 10:30pm and he was waking me up again telling me he was going to bed. I tucked him in, turned out the lights, and headed back to bed. This morning I woke up and the alarm had been going off for almost an hour. I got really lucky cuz it turns itself off at the hour mark. So after 12 or 13 hours of sleep I'm actually feeling almost not dead again. I'm thinking that I need 12 hours of sleep every night. One more reason for there to be a law extending a "normal" day from 24 hours to 36. Everybody would be much happier!

That thing got a Hemi?

Well today I was way sick. I feel like I was run over by a big ole truck. I'm starting to feel a little better but still not what I'd like. There are soooo many things I was supposed to do this weekend. It looks like I'm not going to be able to get any of them done. I did learn something very important today. The other day Brandt broke a glass. I just thought this was him being goofy and knocking something over. Pretty much like normal. But no, he informed me it was "The classic struggle of Man vs. Glass". See this is something I did not know. I didn't realize that man vs. glass was a classic stuggle. I better start paying more attention.
